Your Mission, Should You Choose To Accept It...

Mission of the Month...well, I was have done absolutely nothing this month until this week.  I have been a slacker, and I hate to have to put this on my blog but I have been.

Mission NOT Accomplished YET
  1. Wake up earlier. (Did NOT happen.  I woke up but tended to stay in bed until 9:30-10:00.)
  2. Make sure that workboxes are prepared the night before. (19/19 days)
  3. Complete started lapbooks. (0/6 lapbooks)
  4. Develop a schedule. (workbox schedule AND cleaning schedule completed!)
  5. Look into a tutor. (Talked to Sylvan.)
  6. Look into what I need to finish my degree. (Thanks, Dianna!)
  7. Begin a workout program. (Thanks you, Miranda and Chass for your encouragement and support!)
Mission of the Month

  1. Start a morning routine and stick with it for one month!  Here is my morning routine, at this moment (subject to tweaking later: a.) Wake up at 8:30 AM Monday thru Friday (would like to get up earlier but I am just not a morning person.) b.) Eat breakfast c.) Set 3 Most Important Things (MITs) for today d.) Exercise for 30 minutes  e.) Shower (this is subject to revision)
  2. Design "The Pirates of the Current Float Trip" t-shirtsI have this awesome idea for a t-shirt for the adults on this float trip.
  3. Practice using my Cricut.  In order to make the t-shirts for the float trip, I need to learn how to use this machine.
  4. Maintain my cleaning schedule for one month.  My parents are coming to visit in less than a month and I want to make sure the house is in tip-top shape.  It seems like whenever I have company this is what happens.
  5. Maintain exercise program for at least three days a for one month.  I have a float trip to prepare for and well this body is not in shape.  I want it to be and I have until June 1 to get it that way.  Then again I would like to lose some weight and well this is a perfect opportunity to start getting that way.
  6. Finish my new Kris Radish book: Dancing Naked at the Edge of Dawn.  I never would have thought that she would be an author I would read, but will she is and I love the books.

Monthly Mission Update

So how am I doing on my February missions?  Well, not so hot.
  1. Wake up earlier. This waking up early is for the birds and I for one am NOT a bird.  My hubby has told me he wants to wake up earlier which means I need to wake up earlier to wake him up earlier.
  2. Make sure that workboxes are prepared the night before. I am doing a great job on this.  I have also cut back on the amount of daily things Kira needs to get done.  We are spending more time doing more craft activities to help us learn.  I have learned that she learns more by doing than she does by workbooks or reading.  She is so very much like me.  As for the workbox station...well we really haven't been using it the way we were so that is something that is going to have to be revamped.
  3. Complete started lapbooks. Ah, lapbooks.  Well, this mission I haven't even started!  I have thought about it numerous times, but it just hasn't come to fruition.
  4. Develop a schedule. I think I have almost come to a conclusion on this one.  The home school one is currently in the works and tomorrow I will begin my new cleaning schedule.
  5. Look into a tutor. I think the big thing here is we need a schedule and as we progress in our schedule things will be easier on all of us.  But somehow we need to regain that balance in our lives.
  6. Look into what I need to finish my degree.  I am going to call my advisor later this week (or next) and find out what is involved in the classes that I have left to take.  Two specifically because I want to be prepared for fall.  I have already talked to the Emergency Manager here in Fort Lauderdale and he said he can always get me an internship, it just depends on what they are wanting.  I am kinda excited (but then again a little nervous.)
  7. Begin a workout program.  So one of my best friends introduces to me his girlfriend, Miranda.  Miranda and I just click.  Don't know what it is.  Maybe it is because we share the same birthday, or maybe it is just that we really like the guy that brought us together.  I don't know and I don't care.  She loves to go hiking, backpacking, camping, etc and those are things I love doing (and miss!)  In fact, this summer we are having a camping/float trip called 'The Pirates of the Current' and this trip has really had me thinking.  I am so out of shape that I am not sure what is going to save me.  So Miss Miranda is going to be my motivator.  I told her she can call me any name in the book.  Call and check up on me with my husband.  Whatever she needs, but I need an exercise buddy.  I need to kick myself in high gear because I need to fit into a swimsuit by June 1.  My ultimate goal would be to drop 3 pant sizes, but I am not sure that is even possible.  So Monday, Miranda is going to ask me daily if I have exercised and I have to be truthful.  I am going to start keeping a log as to my exercising (what I did for how long, etc, etc, etc.)  Wii Fitness here I come.  Instead of 4 months, I have only 3 months. Why is it I hear R. Lee Ermey in the background?
Well now that I just realized that today is Monday, I had better get exercising!

February Mission of the Month

My mission last month was to learn how to use my new Christmas gifts, a Cricut Cutting Machine and a Gypsy.  This is a rolling mission but I wanted to make sure I got started.  I did a lot of research and learned a lot but really didn't cut much.  I need more cartridges so my goal is to purchase a cartridge a month.  I found out that there are three different software programs that also work with them which I will go into at a later time.  What I did cut out were thank you notes.  They aren't anything fancy but I did cut something out!  So . . .

Chinese New Year: Part 1

According to a website I was reading about the Chinese New Year, we are supposed to have cleaned our house from top to bottom before the first day of the New Year -- we are talking about the Chinese New Year.  Doing this is said to ward off any bad luck from the previous year and prepare our homes to accept the good luck for the upcoming year.  So does it count if I am cleaning today?  Probably not, but it's worth a try.  This cleaning of your home before the new year is supposed that there is no chance of throwing away your good fortune.  Wearing black today is also very bad.  It is associated with death.  Guess I need to go change my sports bra now.  *sigh*  Wear red as it is the color associated with warding off the bad spirits.  Well, guess, I'd better get busy!
